Sprouted Horse Gram Salad: I have brought Horse Gram / Kollu from my recent native trip and have updated my good old Horse gram Sprouts Post with Video Recipe. I have several good recipes (recipe links follows) using those sprouts and once such healthy thing is this Horse Gram Sprouts Salad. The addition of raw sprouts (no cook sprouts), raw veggies, Oil free, fat free (when you skip cheese or paneer) and no processed food intake is a good way to maximize its benefits. This salad was approved by my 8 year old girl who loves salads like me :-). When it comes to salad nowadays I can’t skip boiled peanuts but feel free to add your favorite legume and veggies here. Lets check the recipe in detail.
Sprouted Horse Gram Salad Ingredients
Freshly sprouted Horse gram – 1/2 Cup
Boiled Peanuts – 1/3 Cup
Thinly Sliced Raw Carrot – 1/2 Cup or use baby carrots
Thinly Sliced Raw Capsicum – 2 Tbsp
Optional Chopped Raw Tomato – 2 Tbsp
Zucchini or Cucumber cubes – 1/3 Cup
Raw Unriped Avocado – 1/4 Cup chopped
Chopped Onion – 1 Tbsp
Lemon Juice – 1 Tbsp
Seasoned Salt or Regular Salt – As Needed
Croutons – As Needed
Optional Ranch / Mayonnaise – As Needed
Sprouted Horse Gram Salad Preparation
- If using dry peanuts, soak them for an hour, pressure cook with salt and water for 3 hisses.
- Once pressure goes off drain the excess water and keep it ready.
- Also chop, slice and make the other raw ingredients ready.
- In a mixing bowl add all the ingredients mentioned in the ingredient list except crouton.
- Gently mix all together from top to bottom.
- Top it with Croutons and serve.
Variations
- You can add fried paneer / tofu or shredded cheese to this salad.
- Instead of Peanuts you can use white kabuli chana / garbanzo beans.
- This one is a spinach / green leaves free salad, if you wish you can chop and add 1/2 cup of any salad leaves.
