Here in US, the sweet potato we get in stores is entirely different from our ‘sakkaraivalli kilangu.’ So, I was longing for our ‘sakkaraivalli kilangu.’ One day, when we went to a Korean supermarket, I saw this sweet potato in huge quantity with the name of Korean yam or Korean sweet potato. I jumped in joy and purchased a pound for home. People like me who are looking for sakkaraivalli kilangu can try this sweet potato variety. So I thought of sharing it as a post in blog for you all. It tasted exactly like South Indian ‘sarkaraivalli kilangu,’ and I always prefer having this kilangu with ghee and sugar. Recently I purchased this variety as “Japanese sweet potato” in an Indian store near by.
