How I Cook Hard Boiled Egg
I use either a pressure cooker or an Instant Pot to make hard-boiled eggs. First, I clean the eggs and gently place them in the pressure cooker. Then, I pour water over the eggs until they are submerged. After closing the lid, I pressure cook for 2 whistles. Adding salt while boiling can make it easier to peel the shells later.
Indeed, submerging boiled eggs in cold water before peeling can make the shells easier to remove. This technique helps cool down the eggs quickly, causing the egg whites to contract slightly from the shell, which can facilitate easier peeling. Additionally, it can help prevent the yolks from becoming discolored and developing a greenish ring around the edges, which sometimes occurs when eggs are overcooked or cooled too slowly
What is Onion Raita?
Onion raita is a flavorful and healthy yogurt-based dip made with chopped onion and cucumbers. You can also add grated carrot and beets in mild portions for added flavor and nutrition. For spices, you can add seasoned salt or black salt along with a pinch of chili powder and chaat masala powder.
In South India, we call this dish Thayir Pachadi, and the dip typically includes only salt without any added spices. Pachadi predominantly contains onion and cucumber, and that’s it.
